::Immaculate apartment with original furnishings from a wealthy Danish family dating back to 1890. Two sisters lived there until their deaths and donated their apartment to the National museum. As they were unmarried, nothing in the apartment was updated after their father passed away in 1890. They were one of the first houses in Denmark to get electricity and running water. They even had one of the first telephones; family had 1 digit phone number - 7 - showing their prominence in the country. Everything is preserved perfectly and allows for a glimpse into how life was lived over 100 years ago. Available as a guided tour only, as apartment is protected by the state. Guided tour is free with Copenhagen card from National Museum. Can redeem in lieu of free gift.
