::The area and the castle is very beautiful from outside. The inside of the castle is very boring and not tourist friendly at all. Old signs with little or no explanation for the pictures and basically it seems like they didn’t do anything for making it more interesting and inviting.

::Honestly. Don't come here at winter time. It looks cold and gray. In the summer, this is one of the most beautiful places in Denmark. The restaurants and bars around the castle are amazing and have a great view of the castle. On a Friday in the summer, the hill called "batzkes bakke" (right by the castle) is usually occupied by teenagers drinking, smoking and listening to loud music. Although I think this adds to the atmosphere of the place.

::One of the best castles and must watch if you are at Copenhagen. Take a 24 hour pass and go to hillerod and castle is a 3 stop bus away. Castle has 3 to 4 floors and each level is beautiful. Church with musical instrument and badges or medals of king. Then rooms on each floor with amazing painting. There were about 55 to 60 rooms each with different colour background and furniture. Bed, closet, clock, Paintings, porcelain bowls and glasses, Curtains, Wall Ceiling, Dinning table and chairs and different type of sofa and each room with history of kings place of interest. This is overall a beautiful castle to watch from inside and out. Surrounding has lake and garden for the kings.

::Worth the visit! A very grand castle surrounded by a moat. The grounds are meticulously manicured and open to walk through. I visited in March, but I am told it is great for a summer picnic.

::Amazing Renaissance castle. you won't be disappointed. The only thing is the interior decor ...too much furniture... overwhelming. you need at least 1h:30 inside castle and 2 hours in the gardens. there is a hidden cafe at the top of the gardens. check first if it is opened Nice tea and cakes and the view is stunning.
