::First off, this embassy looks like and is run like a prison. You get an appointment (even for emergency services) and then wait outside to be let inside, where you have to take off and give them all electronics. Then you get inside and get a number (making the appointment unnecessary) where you just sit, without a clock, for a while. Oh, and when you go to pick up a new passport (as mine got stolen and that’s why I was here) you have to get here at 8:15 in the morning, no later, where the actual workers are just starting to get there and wait in the room for them to settle in. If you come any later, you won’t be allowed in.

::Always swift and efficient service. I’vi visited a lot of countries’ embassies around the world. China embassy in Tokyo (2 hrs wait), Indian embassy in Sri Lanka (5 hrs wait) and many others. The US Embassy in CPH is amongst the fastest.

::I think your attitude has a lot to do with a day going to the US embassy. I would have renewed my passport via post but it was too far outdated and required a personal visit. I thought the service and the making of the appointment was easy and smooth. I did fill out the appointment form online and got back a quick reply. I waited two weeks before travelling by train to Copenhagen, walked to the embassy a little earlier than my appointment time. After waiting awhile they let me go in and the process of the interview took less than 5 minutes. Then after waiting another ten minutes they told me to expect my new and old passports in the post. It reminded me of going to the Costa Mesa DMV accept with the added guards . All and all it was a good experience.
