::Alssund is a narrow though navigable waterway connecting Sonderborg bight with Als Fjord. Running North to South it plays a major part in making Als an island. The shores of Alssund are sparesly populated. Farmhouses, Mansions and summerhomes are sprinkled on the western shore. The waterway is well used by pleasureboats. Rowing, canoeing and sailing in small crafts is a favorite pasttime. Although winds tend to be gusty waves are always negligible. One of the highlights are secludes achoring spots with a beautiful view and good for swimming.
