  Beautiful cemetery filled with little gardens, and a pocket of haven just off the main busy road. This place is completely worth a visit to walk around, and even relax, read and sunbathe.

  Cementerio done yacen una gran cantidad de figuras importantes Danesas. Originalmente era un cementerio para los pobres, pero en el siglo 19 varios célebres personajes de la época fueron enterrados ahí. Su nombre proviene de su función, asistir a otros cementerios de la ciudad amurallada los cuales ya estaban llenos. Es un cementerio grande y muy lindo. Gran zona verde donde se pueden oír los pájaros cantar, ardillas subir árboles, ver muchas flores y árboles distintos.

  It was on our son's initiative that we ended up wandering around the narrow lanes of the Assistens Cemetery. He was keen to see the final resting place of... no, not Hans Christian Andersen... as he's a physics buff, he wanted to see Niels Bohr's grave. That we found, and then we added - in the course of a very peaceful and pleasant walk - also Søren Kierkegaard and, of course, Hans Christian Andersen. The cemetery is idyllic, although there was quite a bit of restructuring underway in its north-eastern corner. Also, since our visit took place at the beginning of spring, the gardening work had probably not had enough time to show all its splendour yet.

  Cmentarz z grobem Andersena i Kierkegaarda. W Danii cmentarze pełnią rolę parków, są alejki, ławeczki, ludzie biegają, lub piknikują, co może dziwić osoby o bardziej konserwatywnym podejściu - warto sprawdzić samemu, w dzielnicy Norrebro. Wejście bezpłatne.
